Two things I don’t often do: layer over button-up shirts and mix patterns.

Granted, stripes and florals isn’t a unique pattern pairing. This one I can do with some confidence. Others I struggle with. Like a pair of gray skinnies with small black polka dots. I can’t seem to mix with those dots. Even my flowy floral button-up doesn’t feel right. Any ideas?

Another thing I’m enjoying lately is mixing gold and silver jewelry. For a long time I wouldn’t do it (just like for a long time I couldn’t bring myself to mix black and brown). Now I’ve made a few gold and silver pieces, like the necklace worn here, to break my self-imposed no mixing rule.

Oh, I also love my hair here. This happened after a couple of days with my hair in french braid twisted bun. Nothing like braids to create waves without a hot curler.

Happy Monday!

Thanks! This sweater is several years old and I still wear it regularly. The shade of yellow/gold is exactly what I like. Means I made a good, lasting choice when I purchased.

I live everything about this outfit. I actually love when people mix patterns and it’s something I never do. I dk why! Also you’re gorgeous 🙂

Me too! I love pattern combos when I see them on other people. But I can’t seem to put something together well, or at least that I’m comfortable wearing, most of the time. It’s a goal for my style growth. I love bright colors, now I want to be more confident in patterns.

Awe thank you! Sometimes I stand in my closet and try to figure out what pieces I haven’t worn together to come up with something fresh. Occasionally it works, other times they go back to the opposite sides of the closet. 🙂

I would LOVE a personally shopper, at least for a bit. Someone who knows style and pairing and choosing for body type, etc, to teach me how to shop for my style and body.

      You’re too sweet. 🙂

I like my bright solids, too. That’s what I’m most comfortable in and probably always will be. My basics tend to be gray, black or white, then I add color with a bright top or bold accessory. I don’t think we’re plain; maybe simple and classic.

It’s not the most comfortable for me so I don’t do it often. This shirt is sleeveless and that helps. No annoying bunching around the elbow as I go through the day.

LOVE the outfit. I have a weird thing with button downs – I feel like they just don’t work on me. We’re definitely hair twins! I throw my hair in a french braid when it’s wet. Let it stay like that for 24 hours while it dries, shake it out and boom – pretty waves like yours 🙂

Me either. I have a few and almost never wear them. Wardrobe pieces don’t last long if they’re not comfortable for me.

French braids are the best! I feel like I’ve only recently made peace with my hair and can have fun styling. I just had to embrace the crazy first. 🙂
