Stick-to-itiveness

Good morning, happy Monday and fabulous {can-you-believe-it??} February!

I’m a bit drained today after last night’s Super Bowl festivities which, though we were with a fun group of people, was all around rather disappointing. If you’re a Bronco’s or Peyton fan, I’m really sorry. If you just wanted an exciting game, I’m sorry. If you’re a Seahawks fan, congratulations and enjoy a pretty remarkable win. If you just watched for commercials, well, I’m mostly sorry. And if you watched for the music, that was the best part of the night!

That’s all I’m going to say until next season.

Μaybe the rainy morning or maybe dreams of escaping winter on a warm beach or maybe a retained new year high of stick-to-itiveness has inspired my motivation this week. Oceans, ice cream, sunlight and commitment. Stick to your goals this week/month, and also take time to enjoy the sunlight in your life. And remember that it is 100% ok for that sunlight to be some ice cream. Or chocolate. It is Valentine’s month after all.

What do you plan to achieve and enjoy in February?

Seriously! As much as I wanted Denver to come back and make it a “game,” a score of zero would at least have made the blowout a bit more interesting. I’m looking for to a month of solid training as well.

I plan to get back into a solid gym routine for February. I went this morning for the first time in months and I feel GREAT.

Ugh…. routine is right. Why is it so hard to stick to a schedule sometimes – ESP. when we know how good we feel afterward?

Love the quotes! My goal for February is to PR on my 5k next week. It has been awhile since I ran a regular old 5k. I have been focusing so much on distance. The last time I ran a 5k was at the beginning of my running career. I am looking forward to seeing how much I have grown!

Exciting!! Have a great race! I don’t think I’ve ever run a 5K, just 8 and 10. (It’s hard to convince myself to pay for just a 5, honestly). But I’m always curious how much I could push my (slower) pace in a short race.

  5. I love football but I completely agree with you… Bruno Mars was the best part of the game!

And that yoga pose photo is so amazing and beautiful!

I know…. maybe *someday* I’ll have a pose like that in my practice. I was also really pleased to hear people say “wow, I didn’t think Bruno Mars was anything exciting, but he’s actually really good!” Yes, he is. I love how his style has developed. Little Motown going on!

I am trying to appreciate the amount of snow days our school has had. Today makes eight. I have decided that I can’t control the weather, so I’m not going to stress about it. Today will be a snuggle day. . .along with a grading and studying day. As for fitness, I can’t control the weather (again). This month is devoted to cross-training and strength-building.

I have a hard time with winter workouts too. Cold/snow and I aren’t friends. Having access to a treadmill this year helps so much. Normally I stick to home HIIT workouts. At least enjoy your snow days off! I’ve had one snow day off work, but mostly we still trek in.
